We are proud to announce the completion of Phase 1 of the above contract.
This element of the contract involved the completion of the construction of the new school with a contract period from commencement on site on 14/02/2011 to completion and handover on 30/03/2012 with a value of £3.5 million and BREAAM EXCELLENCE.
Completion was achieved on contract which allowed the head teacher and staff the Easter school holiday period to relocate from the old school to their brand new state of the art school.
This was achieved through no small part by a superb effort from everyone involved in the project from the design team through to the site management to everyone who worked on the site.
All 150 pupils who range from 4 years of age through to 11 years can now look forward to 21st century teaching in a school designed and built for the 21st century.
All main entrances into the building are securely controlled and all play areas are enclosed with security fencing with CCTV offering a high level of security for all staff, pupils and parents.
Externally there is a play area some 3 to 4 times larger than the existing school along with a MUGA (multi use games area) which is enclosed with fencing and flood lights which will allow football, short tennis, netball, mini cricket to be played in a safe controlled area there is also a football pitch some 80m x 37m for field sports to be played on.
The building is heated by means of gas fired boilers and underfloor heating, it will also generate 30% of its own electricity requirements with any surplus electricity being sold back to the national grid.
Through using our own directly employed tradesmen we have been able to provide our client Pembrokeshire County Council with a building which has been finished to a standard which we believe to be unsurpassed by any other they have completed recently.
As principle contractor on the project we have utilised the knowledge and skills of a first class team of designers and main subcontractors which include:-
Along with a group of local suppliers and contractors who have worked on the project.
We now look forward to Phase 2 along with the whole village which involves the demolition of the dilapidated old school and the construction of the new car park facilities and nature pond to complete the BREEAM excellent rating required on the project.
